During marking period two, the fourth grade students at Dogwood Hill School have been using the computers in all subject areas. This Inventions Project was done as an extension to the science unit on Ideas and Inventions. The students researched information on a specific inventor and then created a Neo Office presentation, which was later converted to PowerPoint format. The students organized their information onto several slides, used slide transitions, included colorful backgrounds, and imported pictures from secure Internet sites of their inventor and inventions he/she invented. This project was completed on their own with Ms. Wilson and Mrs. Capela as guides. We applaud their sometimes interesting use of font size and spacing. Not only is their work informative, it is also creative.
