Guidelines for Delayed Opening Days:

• Valley Middle School will open at 10:00 AM, and the elementary schools will open at 10:30 AM.
• middle school buses will pick-up students approximately two hours later than the regular schedule;
• elementary bus students will be picked up approximately one and one half hours later than regular school days;
• the Oakland Public School's Information Line (201-405-ABCD) will announce a delayed opening with any specific details;
• students in Grades 1-8 will have their regular schedule of classes on delayed opening days; however, the amount of time for each period will be shortened;
• the local fire siren signal will be used as a secondary source of notification (two short blasts at 6:30 AM, 7:00 AM, and 7:30 AM.)
• Morning Kindergarten and Morning Preschool classes will begin at 10:30 a.m., and will end at 1:05 p.m.
• Afternoon Kindergarten and Afternoon Preschool classes will begin at the regular starting time of 12:35 p.m. and end at the regular dismissal time of 3:10 p.m.
