 The
Colonial Times Craft Project was developed out of the
cooperative efforts of the three fifth grade teachers and
the computer specialist. These team members also had the
cooperation and assistance from the school librarian, the
art teacher, the resource room teacher, and one classroom
instructional aide. The project was designed to integrate
with a unit of study on Colonial Times and build upon the
research skills of our students, incorporating their
interests in social studies, writing, art, and technology.
We looked at the resources available to us and conducted the
research on the internet as well as using traditional print
media. There are three fifth grade classes where you may
view the students' crafts and a brief description of the
topics studied. Each child learned the basic principles of
web page construction and developed their own personalized
web page for this project. We hope you enjoy our Colonial
