*Monday, May 6th is our field trip. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns*
Welcome to the "Kinder-Sea!" We are making our way through our reading and writing workshop units in class. Our science/social studies units in a whole group setting with either Ms. Neenan or Mrs. Doyle. I am so proud of how well your child is becoming accustomed to the full-day setting and how well he/she following our routines and procedures in our classroom. If you have any questions/concerns, please be sure to contact me at email@example.com. Please leave your preferred contact method, and I will get right back to you.
We are currently reinforcing and practicing the skills of keeping our hands to ourselves, personal space, and being a good friend. Please talk about and review these topics at home with your child. We are reading stories, watching videos, and talking about how this affects our friends when we do not keep our hands to ourselves, or mind each other's personal space.
Please review the importance of washing your hands with your child as well as covering your cough and sneezes and not putting things that are not food in your mouth. We are reviewing this in class, and are trying our best to promote these skills in order to prevent spreading germs to keep our class healthy. Thank you for your support!
Homework is being given daily from Monday through Thursday. In addition to homework, your child will bring home a Read Every Day (R.E.D.) folder every Tuesday and Thursday to practice their reading fluency and comprehension skills. They are proud to show you the books that they are able to read independently! My extra help day is Tuesdays from 3:30 to 3:50.
**If you notice your child struggling with any of the homework/word work that is sent home, please either send in a note or email me. I do not expect your child to finish the assignment if it is too hard for your child. We will then work one-on-one with your child to ensure that they are understanding the content. The purpose of homework is extra practice and to reinforce of the things taught in class, not to frustrate them or to be too tricky.**
Thank you so much for your support! Please contact me with any questions or concerns about your child!
