I have some big ideas about the role art can play in young children's lives! Born and raised in Oakland, I am thrilled to be a part of your child's creative experiences in the art room.
I feel being exposed to great art and making their own art is an experience every child deserves.
Art provides a unique platform for children to express themselves, explore their emotions, and develop vital skills that will serve them well throughout their lives. From fine motor skills to enhanced problem-solving abilities, the impact of artistic engagement is both profound and far-reaching.
Art offers a space where there are no right or wrong answers. It encourages children to trust their instincts and make choices based on their preferences and imagination. This autonomy fosters a sense of empowerment, allowing them to take ownership of their creations and decisions.
Throughout the year, students will be exposed to great artists, proper use of materials, and a huge variety of mediums to create art they can be proud of!
Remember, it's not about perfection—it's about the joy of creating together!
