Soccer – The rivalry with FAMS continued with an incredibly hard fought back and forth game yesterday.  FAMS opened up the scoring in the 2nd half after a scoreless defensive first half.  Once the second half started the game opened up a little.  The persistent pressure by the Lady Challengers led to a dramatic finish. A series of crisp passes led to a clever  finish in the back of the net to tie the score at 1 which is where the game finished.  The Lady Challengers continue their pursuit of an undefeated season against Allendale on Thursday. The girls will not practice today or tomorrow.

The boys Challengers - The boys challengers traveled to neighboring Franklin lakes yesterday in their final match against them this season. The Challengers caught some bad luck to begin the game in losing the coin flip and being forced to battle a strong glare for the entire first half of the game.

Despite the difficulties seeing the ball, our goalie did a masterful job in supporting his defense as he was forced to come out of the box on multiple occasions to help clear the ball up the field. The challengers were also able to work the ball deep into the Franklin Lakes end of the field on multiple occasions, but couldn’t quite break through their defense. The Challengers considered the two goals deficit at halftime a minor victory considering their inability to see half the time. The Challengers were able to pull to within one goal. After a hard fought battle in the second half the challengers would eventually give up two more goals and suffer a loss to Franklin Lakes, 4-1.
